Harry Kane might now be one of the biggest names in world football but it was a loan spell alongside a Hyundai A-League star that convinced Tottenham that the striker had what it takes at the top level.
A fruitful loan spell at Millwall in the 2011/12 Championship season, in which Kane scored seven goals in 19 league starts, was a sign of things to come.
And Kane’s strike partner at Millwall was none other than Perth Glory frontman Andy Keogh.

Keogh fondly recalled the six-month period in which the pair led the line for Millwall as they helped the south-east London club out of the relegation zone in the fiercely competitive Championship.
"Harry Kane came to Millwall on loan and we had six months together and that was a partnership I really thrived on," Keogh recently said on Perth Glory's ‘Inside Glory’ podcast.
"I think we had 16 games together and we scored 10-11 goals each, got Millwall out of the relegation zone and went from there.”
Keogh said he was desperate to work with Kane again but that a repeat was not possible.
And he added that he was not surprised with Kane’s development, with the striker having scored 20 or more goals in four successive English Premier League seasons.
Kane bagged 30 in just 35 top-flight starts last season before winning the Golden Boot at the FIFA World Cup 2018 after scoring six times for England at football’s biggest event.
"I was banging on the manager's door to re-sign him for next season but he went onto bigger and better things,” Keogh recalled.
“[He had a] great attitude, hungry for goals, just hungry to shoot from anywhere.
“He was very good. He needed to work on his fitness side of things, the physical attributes, and he did, and I think everyone can see, you know, where that's taken him to, which is the next level.”
