England: Mooy in for massive Liverpool clash

Aaron Mooy and Huddersfield Town will be dropped straight back into the cauldron when the Premier League returns as they host high-flying Liverpool at 3:30am on Sunday.

Key midfielder Mooy missed Caltex Socceroos camp with a slight groin strain but appears a good chance of handing the Terriers a much-needed fitness boost.

Elsewhere in the top flight, Brighton and Hove Albion will be looking to make it two on the trot when they head to struggling Newcastle United at 1:00am on Sunday.

Mat Ryan kept a clean sheet in his last outing before the international break and will be hoping for more of the same at St James' Park.

Both matches will be broadcast live on Optus Sport.

In the Championship, Bailey Wright will be in the mix for his first minutes as Bristol City travel to Brentford, while Massimo Luongo's Queens Park Rangers head to Ipswich Town.

Luongo's midfield partner from the win over Kuwait, Jackson Irvine, could slot straight back in for Hull City's hosting of Preston North End with James Meredith and Millwall on the road to Reading.

In League One, Kenny Dougall will have a spring in his step for promotion-chasing Barnsley's excursion to Charlton after his involvement with the national team.

Each of those matches gets underway at 1:00am on Sunday.

Scotland: Crunch all-Aussie clash in title race

As many as four current Caltex Socceroos - and one man on the cusp - could take centre stage in the match of the weekend in the Scottish Premiership.

Tom Rogic and Daniel Arzani both impressed during the week and could be involved in Celtic's home date with Hibernian, who count Mark Milligan, Jamie Maclaren and Martin Boyle among their ranks.

Maclaren is believed to be nearing a return from a back injury, while Milligan and Boyle have been instrumental in edging Neil Lennon's side a point ahead of the champions.

That fixture commences at 1:00am Sunday and so too does Hearts' meeting with Aberdeen at Tynecastle, where Ben Garuccio has featured regularly.

Germany: Leckie eyes more Bundesliga minutes

Mathew Leckie stepped up his return from injury with two appearances off the bench before the international break and will hope for his 73 minutes against Kuwait lead to domestic start.

The winger's Hertha Berlin side, fifth in the Bundesliga, host mid-table Freiburg at 12:30am on Monday.

Down a division and Robbie Kruse's VfL Bochum are seeking consecutive victories away to Hamburg at 10:30pm on Sunday.

Netherlands: Sainsbury seeks successive starts

Trent Sainsbury started PSV's previous fixture and it will be intriguing to see what role he and Aziz Behich play at home to Emmen on Sunday at 3:30am.

Elsewhere, Denis Genreau and PEC Zwolle have a tough trip to third-placed Feyenoord at 11:30pm on Sunday.

Ajdin Hrustic and Groningen are in action at the same time away to Heracles.

Rest of Europe: Mabil out to make more strides

Awer Mabil was the toast of Australia after notching on his international debut and should be full of confidence for Midtjylland's match at Nordsjaelland on Sunday at 1:00am, as Mustafa Amini and AGF and Mustafa Amini host Aalborg (Monday 3:00am) elsewhere in Denmark.

Genk are likewise top in Belgium and will welcome back the in-form Danny Vukovic for a home date with Eupen at 5:30am on Sunday.

Apostolos Giannou, fresh from opening his Caltex Socceroos account against Kuwait, will link up with AEK Larnaca for a meeting with visitors Doxa in Cyprus on Sunday at 3:00am.

Over in Serbia and Milos Degenek's Red Star Belgrade take on Rad at 4:00am on Sunday, while Tomi Juric's Luzern are busy with Thun at the same time in Switzerland.

Meanwhile, in Norway, high-flying Rosenborg head to Lillestrom with Alex Gersbach likely to be in tow.

Asia: Nabbout to step up comeback

Andrew Nabbout demonstrated extraordinary powers of recovery to get back on the pitch well ahead of schedule in Urawa Red Diamonds' most recent fixture.

Now, with his shoulder setback well and truly behind him, the powerful forward will look for an even greater role at home to Kashima Antlers at 6:00pm on Saturday.

Mitchell Duke's Shimizu S-Pulse host Sanfrecce Hiroshima at 4:00pm on Saturday, while the weekend begins on Friday night for Mitchell Langerak and Nagoya Grampus with an away assignment at Kashiwa Reysol (9:30pm).

Fellow goalkeeper Brad Jones will hope to help keep Al-Nassr top of the Saudi Pro League via three points away to Al-Batin at 2:10am on Saturday.

Also in Saudi Arabia, Matt Jurman's Al-Ittihad host Ohod on Saturday at 4:00am.
