Steph Catley created the goal that earned Melbourne City a three-point lead at the top of the Westfield W-League.
A City side crammed with seven Westfield Matildas earned a fifth straight win of the campaign to open up a gap at the top of the ladder on Thursday.
Catley saw her thunderous free-kick cannon back off the crossbar and New Zealand international Rebekah Stott bundled in the loose ball into the net to clinch a 1-0 win against Perth Glory.
Left-back, and vice captain, Catley played at the back alongside Emma Checker and Ellie Carpenter, while Lydia Williams helped seal a clean sheet between the City sticks.
Kyah Simon made her 100th appearance in the competition, starting in City’s midfield alongside fellow Westfield Matildas Aivi Luik and Emily van Egmond.
City extended their grip at the summit of the league table with Sydney FC slumping to a 5-0 defeat against Harbour City rivals Western Sydney Wanderers and losing their second-place spot.
