Western Sydney Wanderers v Adelaide United: match preview

Western Sydney Wanderers will hope to build on their strong start under interim boss Jean-Paul de Marigny when they host a resurgent Adelaide United on Friday night.

The Wanderers have had a win and draw – 1-1 against Newcastle Jets on the weekend – since de Marigny took over the first-team from the sacked Markus Babbel.

And they have won their last two clashes against Adelaide, including a thrilling and controversial match 3-2 at Coopers Stadium earlier this season.

Adelaide United are perched nicely inside the top four after a late 2-0 win over Central Coast Mariners in Round 19.

That’s now four wins from the last five games for Gertjan Verbeek’s troops, who are getting results despite a lengthy injury list, although the emergence of teen sensation Mohamed Toure has been a major boost.
