Watch out, Wellington: Brisbane forward scores nine goals ahead of FFA Cup showdown

Wellington Phoenix's FFA Cup 2019 Round of 32 trip to face NPL Queensland side Brisbane Strikers just got a little bit more daunting.

The New Zealanders will take on former NSL powerhouse Strikers in the national round on Wednesday, August 7 at 7.30pm AEST.

Brisbane will fancy their chances at spoiling Ufuk Talay's first match in charge of the Kiwis, particularly if Andrew Pengelly can take his red hot form into the Perry Park clash.

Pengelly scored nine goals in Brisbane’s 12-1 NPL Queensland demolition of Sunshine Coast on the weekend.

The young forward's hat-trick of hat-tricks brings his season tally for the season to 32.

It is the most goals ever scored by a single player in an NPL Queensland match. It is also a new club record for most goals scored by a single Strikers player in any competition.

The 22-year-old has scored goals for fun in recent years at youth and senior level for former team Western Pride, where he played alongside fellow Queensland starlet and current Brisbane Roar hot shot Dylan Wenzel-Halls.

Zach Maltby also scored a hat-trick for Brisbane, who are fifth on the ladder in NPL Queensland.
