Vote to decide Western Melbourne Group's official name, colours

The official name and club colours of the Hyundai A-League’s newest club will be decided by an online poll, it has been announced.

Back in December, Western Melbourne Group won a licence to enter the Hyundai A-League in the 2019/20 season.

And the team behind the winning bid have announced that fans will have a big say in the future of the club.

Posting a short statement on the club's official Twitter page, Western Melbourne Group announced the following:

“This Sunday you can become part of the club’s history by helping us to choose our official name and colours,” they said.

“We’ve shortlisted the most popular names as decided by our fans in earlier surveys.”

Those surveys were conducted at a community forum in Wyndham in August.

Fans will be able to vote on an online poll run in conjunction with News Limited newspapers.

A News Limited article promoting the vote said that those who vote “will go into the draw to win an exclusive three-season membership with your own personalised seat in the new purpose built football stadium in Tarneit."
