Victory attacker earns spot in FIFA 19 Team of the Week

Melbourne Victory attacker Kosta Barbarouses is the latest Hyundai A-League star to be selected amongst the world of football’s biggest names in the latest FIFA 19 Team of the Week.

The Kiwi international earned his spot after a prolific week in the Hyundai A-League, where he scored four goals and had one assist.

It started in the midweek Round 15 clash against Brisbane Roar, where he scored a second-half hat-trick to guide Victory to a 5-0 win.

Just a few days later in the home clash against Wellington Phoenix, Barbarouses set-up Ola Toivonen’s opening goal before salvaging a 3-3 draw with a late goal of his own.

He joins fellow Hyundai A-League stars Roy Krishna, Craig Goodwin, Alex Brosque and Eugene Galekovic to have made the FIFA 19 Team of the Week in recent times.

And Barbarouses is alongside some illustrious company this week, including PSG duo Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe, while Real Madrid’s Luka Modric and Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka also made the cut.

Barbarouses was awarded a 78-rated in-form card - which is only behind Phoenix striker Krishna's 79 - and level with Victory teammate Keisuke Honda's base gold version.

Pass accuracy is Barbarouses’ main strength, earning a rating of 86, while dribbling (79), physicality (78) and shooting (77) are also pretty impressive.
