The Western Sydney Wanderers have signed current USA U23 captain Camille Levin for the remainder of the Westfield W-League 2013/14 season.

Levin, who led Stanford University to the USA National Championship in 2011, arrived in Sydney on Friday and will take the field for the Wanderers in their match against Premiers Brisbane Roar on Sunday at Marconi Stadium.

Joining from Goteborg FC where she won the Swedish Cup double, the versatile defender has also been captain of the U16, U17 and U18 USA national teams and has been involved in the American national set-up since the age of 14.

Drafted into the Women-s Professional Soccer League at pick-number four, the former NCAA All American selection is a goal scorer in the UEFA Champions League having made the Quarter Finals with Goteborg.

Meeting her team mates for the first time Levin said she couldn-t wait to get started.

“I-m really excited and blessed to have this opportunity with the Wanderers,” said Levin.

“I hope to be an asset to the Wanderers, I know that there are a lot of quality players on this team and it-s a really great club so I hope to bring my experience here.

The 23 year old believes that her experience of playing in the best leagues in the world will be invaluable for the team.

“I want to contribute to the team and help the team win and on a personal level continue to improve my game and learn in a different environment under different coaches with different talented players.

“I-m a competitor; I pride myself on playing 110% every time I-m out there. I am a defender but I love to go forward and help with the attack.

“The Premiership is still on the cards as it-s so early in the season, only two games in, and I-ll be doing my best to win the trophy for the Wanderers.”

You can see Camille Levin in action when the Western Sydney Wanderers take on Brisbane Roar on Sunday 1 December at Marconi Stadium. You can have the best of both worlds when the Hyundai A-League match against Wellington Phoenix is shown on the big screens at Club Marconi.

Kick-off is 2:55pm.
