History may beckon for Roy Krishna, but the Wellington Phoenix star striker insists his sole focus is on beating Western Sydney Wanderers this weekend.
Having equalled Paul Ifill’s record as the club’s joint all-time leading scorer with his 33rd Phoenix goal in the 2-1 win over Newcastle Jets in Round 1, Krishna and his team-mates failed to make the most of their chances in a 0-0 draw at Brisbane Roar last weekend.

The Fijian front man now has the chance to become the Nix's outright leading scorer in their second home fixture of the season, but insists he will only be content if that contributes to a Hyundai A-League victory on Saturday evening.
“It’s not really what I’m focusing on, my main focus is to get the three points. It’s more about the team and if I get a goal that’ll be a bonus," Krishna said.
Such are the heightened expectations at Westpac Stadium already, Krishna felt that his side should have extended their 100 per cent record in Round 2.
He added: “It felt great catching Ifill but we needed three points and we are disappointed with the last result, but we’ve got to move on.
“Personally I had a few chances I should have buried but that's what we’ve got to work on this week and hopefully we can get a few goals.”
With ambitions clearly cranked up at Wellington under new manager Mark Rudan, the 31-year-old sees one big difference to previous campaigns.
“The unity,” he added. “The boys are showing that in the first two games and that is going to continue.
“The boys are a very tight group and we’re just helping each other.”
That view is certainly echoed by team-mate Tom Doyle, who has converted to a centre-back in Rudan's back three to help his side concede just once in 180 minutes of action.
He said: “From the start we’ve wanted to get everyone pushing in one direction and when you’ve got a team doing that it makes it a lot easier, going into the game knowing what we’re doing.
“It is a special group and when you are going on the field with a group of players that you really want to be out there with it does add an extra bit of excitement to the game.
“You’re going out there with your mates and you leave everything on the field and I think that has been present in the last few games.”
