Three FFA Cup Round of 32 spots on the line in Victoria

The final three Victorian representatives for the FFA Cup Round of 32 will be decided this week with the final Round 7 Preliminary Round matches to be played.

It all kicks off on Tuesday night as NPL highflyers Avondale FC take on Richmond at Paisley Park in Altona.

Avondale is currently second on the NPL ladder having lost just once all season and have striker Liam Boland – a player who loves this competition – in fantastic form.

They’ll start heavy favourites for the clash with the State League Division 1 South East outfit, who have been one of the giant-killers of the competition in Victoria.

The match, which will be live streamed on FFV Facebook and FFV YouTube, kicks off at 7.45pm.

There are two NPL v NPL2 clashes on Wednesday night.

At JL Murphy Reserve in Port Melbourne, it’s the Sharks hosting Moreland Zebras.

And NPL2 side Altona Magic hosts Northcote City FC at Paisley Park.

Both matches on Wednesday night kick-off at 7.30pm and are also being live streamed on FFV Facebook and FFV YouTube.

Anything can happen in the FFA Cup, and with a precious place in the Round of 32 up for grabs, there should be three hard-fought contests to look forward to this week.

As 2017 NPL National Champion, Heidelberg United has already qualified for the FFA Cup National Round of 32.

Heidelberg will join Bentleigh Greens – who advanced last week – and this week’s three winners as the five Victorian entrants into the National Round of 32 draw.
