Signing news: Jets nab Wales international Ledley

Carl Robinson’s impressive recruitment drive at Newcastle Jets has continued with the signing of Wales international midfielder Joe Ledley.

After securing Hyundai A-League Championship-winner Bernie Ibini on Monday, the Jets have added Ledley until the end of the 2019/20 Season, while midfielder Matthew Ridenton has been released.

The 33-year-old joins the Jets after his short-term contract with English Championship outfit Charlton Athletic ended last month.

TALKING POINTS: Robinson's selection dilemma at Newcastle - who misses out?

Robinson knows Ledley’s talent well having played together for the Wales national team, where the midfielder racked up 77 caps for the Dragons.

He played a key role in the Wales team's sensational run to the Semi Finals at Euro 2016, playing in every match of the tournament.

Ledley started his career with Cardiff City and has also had stints at Celtic, Crystal Palace and Derby County before his short-term deal with Charlton.
