Legendary Brisbane Roar midfielder Tameka Yallop is back in Queensland for the Westfield W-League 2019/20 Season.
Yallop, a three-time Premiership and two-time Championship winner with the Roar, spent last campaign with Melbourne City.
The experienced Westfield Matilda has also spent the winter season in the Norwegian Toppserien with Klepp IL, where she has scored seven goals in 17 matches.
“I’m stoked to be back at my home club. It’s where I’ve played almost all of my career, all my youth football and back where my family is,” Yallop told the club website.
“It’s great to be back. We’ve always been a top club in the [Westfield] W-League and I’m sure we’ll be back there again this year.”
Yallop will be looking to tally half a century of Westfield W-League goals for the Roar this season having netted 49 in 108 appearances dating back to the inaugural campaign of the competition.
An esteemed member of the Westfield Matildas, Yallop has represented the green and gold of Australia with distinction at three FIFA Women's World Cups, and was part of the side that clinched 2010 AFC Asian Cup glory.
The 28-year-old is the first confirmed player by Brisbane boss Jake Goodship.
“We’re excited to have a player of Tameka’s calibre back at the club,” Goodship said.
“To have one of our foundation players back in Brisbane and representing her home club is a great occasion for the club and our fans.
“No player has scored more goals for Brisbane Roar and we can’t wait to see her back on the pitch this season.”
