Outstanding in October
The Seagulls have soared safely into mid-table thanks in large part to Ryan's performances last month.
The acrobatic shot-stopper went unbeaten in three consecutive 1-0 victories that have given the club a sturdy platform ahead of the busy Christmas period.
Ryan's clean sheets came despite him making 17 saves in October, more than any other Premier League goalkeeper.
Alongside Manchester City's Ederson, who had to deal with only three attempts on goal, Ryan was also one of just two men to keep out all 100 per cent of the shots he faced.
Such stellar form was, of course, just a continuation of the standards he has set all season.
Ryan a reliable rock
The 26-year-old's string of top performances haven't been confined to October.
Ryan ranks third in the Premier League for saves with 43 from 11 appearances.
Joe Hart of Burnley and West Ham's Lukasz Fabianski are the only players to have made more.
He's also joint-third for shots parried to safety, for which only Marcus Bettinelli and Petr Cech - both of whom have played fewer matches - have posted stronger percentages.
Now in his second Premier League season, the Seagulls' undisputed number one is clearly improving upon a debut campaign that drew plenty of plaudits.
His overall save rate has improved from 69 per cent to 73 per cent as the AFC Asian Cup winner cements himself among the very best in England's top flight.
