New recruit Sernas made an immediate impact after coming on in the second stanza sending the Glory fans into a frenzy in the 50th minute after his incredible strike from outside the penalty area.

First-half goals to Costa Rican duo Carlos Hernandez and Kenny Cunningham helped Ernie Merrick-s troops to a vital win.
Hernandez scored the opening goal for the Phoenix from a penalty in the 22nd minute, before he found Cunningham who made no mistake in doubling the advantage for the home side just before the interval.
Substitute Awer Mabil scored a late consolation goal for the Reds, but it was not enough as Adelaide-s seven-match unbeaten streak came to an end.
