Perth Glory sign Nebojša Marinkovic

Perth Glory FC have completed the signing of Serbian midfielder Nebojša Marinkovic, who has signed with the club until the end of the 2014/15 season.

Perth Glory FC is pleased to announce that it has completed the signing of Serbian midfielder Nebojša Marinkovic on a contract that will keep him at the Club until the end of the 2014/15 Hyundai A-League season.

The 27-year old attacking midfielder is a former Serbian under 21 international, who was developed through the youth academy at Partizan Belgrade and scored 13 goals in 34 games for them in the Serbian SuperLiga.

Over the past 4 years Marinkovic has played in the Israeli Premier League, most recently with Hapeol Haifa, scoring 20 goals in 98 games.

“Nebojša is a very hard working and creative attacking midfielder. He has great character and wherever he has played he has been highly valued. He distributes the ball well, has great skill and also one of the best long range shots I-ve seen in some time and is extremely dangerous from set pieces,” Perth Glory Interim Head Coach Kenny Lowe said.

Marinkovic arrived in Perth over the weekend and successfully completed a medical this morning.

He will wear the number 8 shirt and will go straight into the squad for the Australia Day match with Western Sydney Wanderers, at Pirtek Stadium, subject to the Club receiving his International Transfer Certificate.

“I have heard so many positive things about the A-League and was excited to be approached by Perth Glory. I liked what I heard about the Club, its proud history, and most importantly the ambitions that it has,” Nebojša said.
