We’ve hit the penultimate round of the Westfield W-League regular season and a win for Melbourne Victory in Newcastle will give them a stranglehold on a top four berth.

Victory are looking to lock-up the last spot in the top four and have Brisbane Roar breathing down their necks, increasing the need for the defending premiers to get a result in the Hunter.

Jeff Hopkins’ side will need to improve on their last showing though, which ended in a demoralising 4-0 defeat at the hands of crosstown rivals Melbourne City.

The Jets are well out of finals contention but have the chance to ensure they can’t finish with the wooden spoon if they can get a win or draw in this one.
