Round 1 of the new Westfield W-League season concludes with Newcastle Jets hosting Melbourne City on Sunday evening, kick off 6pm AEDT.
Newcastle boss Craig Deans has assembled an impressive roster of local talent to mount an assault for the Finals Series.
City's visit to the Hunter will provide the Jets with a formidable first-up test, with local favourite Emily van Egmond returning to her hometown and Ellie Carpenter also set for a City debut.
Three-time Champions, City, missed the Finals Series for the first time last season and have moved heaven and earth to ensure that is a fate they avoid in 2019/20.
