Matildas Abroad Preview: UWCL group stage wraps up for the year

The UWCL group stage continues on Thursday and Friday (AEDT) with the last games of the calendar year, and the potential for the first quarter-finalists to be confirmed.

Group B

Ellie Carpenter's Lyon will take on Larissa Crummer's SK Brann, with Lyon looking to continue their unbeaten streak in the UWCL group stage and book their quarter-final spot with two games to spare.

Lyon has a maximum of nine points in Group B, with the French side recording a 3-1 victory over SK Brann a brace to Kadidiatou Diani and a goal to Ada Hegerberg.

Group C

Clare Hunt's Paris Saint-Germain recorded their first win of the UWCL group stage last week, defeating AS Roma to keep their hopes of advancing to the quarter-finals alive. 

Just two points separate Bayern Munich at the top of the table and PSG at the bottom of the table in fourth, with it all to play for in the final three games of the group stage.

Group D

Group D is filled with Aussies, Sarah Hunter's Paris FC handed Hayley Raso's Real Madrid a 2-1 defeat last week, with Paris picking up their first win of the group stage, with Real still in search of their first victory of the group stage.

Two points separate the sides going into matchday four, with both teams looking to keep their hopes of advancing to the next stage alive with maximum points.

The other Group D fixture will see a top-of-the-table clash as Aivi Luik's BK Häcken host Sam Kerr's Chelsea, with the Swedish side sitting in first place in the group after keeping the Blues to a scoreless draw in the last meeting.
