Western Sydney come off the back of a 3-1 away defeat to Brisbane Roar in a match where the scoreline may mislead just how tight the game was.

The Wanderers were in it for most of the game, and even restored parity via Georgia Yeoman-Dale, but were outdone and left exposed when chasing for the winner.

Melbourne City enter the contest full of confidence after a 3-0 win against Canberra United that was highlighted by a Rhali Dobson double.

That followed their 3-1 win over Newcastle Jets in Round 6 where City blew the hosts off the park and showed some of their best football.

Rado Vidosic’s side boast the likes of Kyah Simon, Tameka Butt, Elise Kellond-Knight and Lydia Williams, who are beginning to all clock consistent minutes together and build on their Westfield Matildas chemistry.

Both sides need to win, though City may be that extra bit hungrier as a 2019 Finals spot is within touching distance if they can string a few more wins together.
