Mackenzie Arnold named as a finalist for #TheBest FIFA Women's Goalkeeper

Mackenzie Arnold has been named as one of three finalists for The Best FIFA Women's Goalkeeper, the award recognises the outstanding keeper in women’s football between 1 August 2022 to 20 August 2023.

The shot-stopper was named to the seven-player short-list back in September, her first nomination for the award, after helping Australia to a history-making FIFA Women's World Cup™ finish on home soil.

Arnold has now been announced as one of three finalists for the award, joined by England's Mary Earps and Spain's Cata Coll.

From this shortlist, the three finalists have been selected by an international jury comprising: women’s national team coaches, women’s national team captains, football journalists, and fans who voted on FIFA’s website.

Arnold earned the most clean sheets at the FIFA Women's World Cup™, recording four shutouts as she helped Australia to a fourth-place finish, the team's best-ever finish at a FIFA Women's World Cup™.

The award not only takes into account the previous tournament but also club football where Arnold was named West Ham United's Player of the Season, rewarded for her consistent performances between the sticks with the captain's armband for the 2023/24 season for the Hammers.

The winner of the award will be revealed at the FIFA Best Awards ceremony in London on 15 January 2024.
