Logarzo on taking food for the soul into next match against Denmark

Speaking about the teams' performance against South Africa on Sunday, Logarzo said their victory over the African Champions was food for the soul.

"I think [our performance] was great. It was a win that we definitely needed for our own souls. Hopefully it gives us something against Denmark to be able to strive for, and it was just a good win underneath our belt," she said.

After more than 12 months away from football due to an ACL injury, Logarzo said making her return to the pitch with her CommBank Matildas family, felt like she'd come full circle.

"It was amazing to be able to get back on the field. I did my knee with the team and I was able to get my first minutes with the team. All that hard work and sacrifice paid off and it was just amazing to be able to do it with the girls that mean the most to me."

Logarzo was part of the squad who played Denmark a little over 18 months ago and since that match in 2021, the Danes have qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup™ for the first time since 2007.

“They are very structured in their formation.  The last time we played them, I think we played well so we'll be able to do the same things and hopefully get a better result.”
