Jiangsu Suning v Melbourne Victory - how to watch, preview

Melbourne Victory continue their inaugural 2019 AFC Women's Club Championship campaign against Chinese Super League champions Jiangsu Suning on Thursday afternoon (AEDT).

The Westfield W-League Premiers opened their tournament with a 4-0 defeat to Korean giants Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels on Tuesday evening.

Jeff Hopkins' side will be out to deliver a response against Jiangsu, who entered the first-ever elite Asian club competition following a dominant 2019 league campaign and drew 1-1 with Japanese champions Nippon TV Beleza in the tournament curtain-raiser Tuesday.

Malawi international Tabitha Chawinga was the scorer for Jiangsu, while former Western Sydney Wanderer and Ghana international Elizabeth Addo is part of the squad.

Tournament details

The first-ever AFC Women's Club Championship will be held in South Korea in a round-robin format from November 26-30.

The tournament features the three champions from China (Jiangsu Suning), Japan (Nippon TV Beleza) and tournament hosts South Korea (Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels).

Although Sydney FC are reigning Westfield W-League Champions, Asian Football Confederation rules dictate that Premiership winners are the first criteria for qualification given there are no Finals Series matches in the other leagues.
