Hayley Raso joins Real Madrid

Matildas winger Hayley Raso has officially signed for Real Madrid for the upcoming Liga F season, making the move to Spain after spending the last three seasons in England.

The 28-year-old signs with the Los Blancos after spending the last 3 seasons in England, where she started her WSL career with Everton before signing a two-year deal with Manchester City and claiming the Continental Cup in the 2021-22 season.

Real Madrid finished second in Liga F last season, finishing ten points behind FC Barcelona. Madrid has qualified once again for the UEFA Women’s Champions League, with Raso’s last appearance in the competition coming when Manchester City were knocked out in the qualifying stages by her new side.

Real Madrid has just finished their season, in a year that saw them fall just short of claiming their first piece of silverware, going down 3-1 on penalties to Atlético Madrid in the Copa de la Reina final.

Raso will link up with former City teammate Caroline Weir at her new side, with the Scottish international the top scorer for Real Madrid this season with 19 goals.
