Nguyen Hoang pulled a goal back for the hosts on stroke of half-time but Tilio had the final word in the closing stages to wrap up an emphatic win.

“It was a difficult tie as Vietnam showed how to control the game and that was something which we could learn from,” van Egmond told aseanfootball.org

“We enjoyed some good counter where we controlled some areas and could have scored a few more goals.”

Next up for the Young Socceroos is host nation Thailand on Sunday 11 August.
