Harrison signs for Western Sydney Wanderers

Westfield Matildas midfielder Amy Harrison has signed for Western Sydney Wanderers for the upcoming Westfield W-League season.

The 23-year-old will pull on the Red and Black jersey having turned out for Washington Spirit in the 2019 National Women’s Soccer League campaign in the United States.

Harrison, a former Westfield W-League Player of the Year, comes to the club off the back of her first season overseas where she featured in 10 matches for Spirit.

An experienced midfielder, Harrison has played over 50 Westfield W-League matches for Wanderers’ Harbour City rivals Sydney FC over seven seasons.

Harrison played in both the 2014 and 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cups™ and has been crowned a Westfield W-League Champion on two occasions.

The midfielder said she was excited for a fresh new challenge at the Wanderers.

“Coming to the Wanderers is a new challenge and new adventure, and that’s something that really excites me as I’m a Westie,” Harrison told wswanderersfc.com.au

“I want to create something special here at the Wanderers and coming from the region, it would be really nice to be part of the Western Sydney Wanderers that win the Westfield W-League or do something special.

“I’m really excited to be part of the team.”
