Caltex Socceroos keeper Mat Ryan has kept another clean sheet in the Premier League as Brighton and Hove Albion secured a goalless draw at high-flying Burnley overnight.
Ryan came up with a couple of superb stops to deny the hosts taking all three points at Turf Moor.
Burnley is on course to qualify for the Europa League next season but couldn’t get past the Aussie gloveman, with Ryan doing well to keep out efforts from Ashley Barnes and Johann Berg Gudmundsson in the first half.
While the draw means the Seagulls are winless in their last six EPL fixtures, they are five points clear of the relegation zone in 14th spot with three games to play.
But it’s a tricky run home for Brighton, with games against Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool to come.
Elsewhere in the EPL, Aaron Mooy’s Huddersfield have fallen closer to the drop zone following a 2-0 loss at home to Everton.
Mooy played the full 90 minutes for the Terriers who were undone by goals in each half from Cenk Tosun and Idrissa Gueye.
Huddersfield’s defeat, coupled with Southampton’s win mean’s David Wagner’s side is now just three points above the relegation zone.
Worryingly for Mooy’s men, they take on champions Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal in their last three games.
In the Championship, a Tim Cahill-less Millwall saw their playoff hopes dashed after a 2-0 defeat at Middlesbrough.
While Cahill is suspended for the rest of the season, James Meredith played 83 minutes at left-back for the Lions, who are now destined to finish just outside the top six,
Caltex Socceroos skipper Mile Jedinak watched from the bench as Aston Villa locked up fourth spot with a 1-1 draw against Derby County.
Jackson Irvine was also an unused substitute as his Hull City slumped to a 2-0 home defeat against promotion-chasing Cardiff City.
Bailey Wright was absent as his Bristol City drew 0-0 at Nottingham Forest, while Massimo Luongo’s QPR beat Birmingham City 3-1.
