Kyah Simon departs Westfield Matildas training camp

Football Federation Australia (FFA) today advised that player Kyah Simon has departed the Westfield Matildas’ pre-FIFA Women’s World Cup training camp in Turkey after suffering a recurrence of a hamstring injury.

Simon, who had been training in Antalya with the Matildas on standby in the lead up to this year’s Women’s World Cup in France, will return to her club in the United States, Houston Dash, to commence her rehabilitation.

“This is an unfortunate setback for Kyah,” Westfield Matildas Head Coach Ante Milicic said.

“Kyah has worked hard this week and shown a lot of positivity around the group.”

“We will continue to monitor her progress and hope she can return to the pitch soon to put her best foot forward ahead of our Olympic Games campaign.”
