The 2021 FFA Cup Semi Finals kick off at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Tuesday night with Sydney FC & Central Coast Mariners set to do battle for the first spot in the FFA Cup Final.

Sydney look to reach a fourth FFA Cup Final, and the Mariners - who have twice previously fallen at the Semi Final stage - search for a first appearance in the showpiece event.

Sydney secured their spot in the Semi Final thanks to an Elvis Kamsoba goal in a 1-0 win over Brisbane Roar in the Quarter Final last Wednesday.

Wednesday’s win follows on from victories over Macarthur and Sydney Olympic in the Round of 16 & 32 respectively for the Sky Blues.

The Mariners defeated three NPL NSW opponents to reach the Semi Finals for a second consecutive campaign.

Nick Montgomery’s side put six past giant-killers APIA Leichhardt in December’s Quarter Final after defeating Wollongong Wolves and Blacktown City in earlier rounds.

The COVID-19 pandemic has seen the two sides come into Tuesday’s Semi Final off the back of vastly contrasting lead-ins.

The Sky Blues will play their third match in the space of seven days, having drawn with the Roar in the league on Saturday night following last Wednesday’s Cup triumph over the same opposition.

Meanwhile, the Mariners take to the field in competitive action for the first time since their 6-0 Quarter Final win over APIA Leichhardt on December 21.

The two sides have gone head-to-head once in Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s action this season with the Mariners running out 2-0 winners over Sydney at Central Coast Stadium in December.

Central Coast and Sydney FC currently sit fifth and sixth on the A-League ladder, each with nine points to their name.
