CONFIRMED: Westfield Matildas drawn in Group C for FIFA Women's World Cup 2019

The Westfield Matildas will play Brazil, Italy, and Jamaica in Group C at the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™ after the Final Draw was conducted at La Seine Musicale in Paris early on Sunday morning (AEDT).

Courtesy of the team’s FIFA World Ranking, the Westfield Matildas were drawn from Pot 1 for the Final Draw, and were subsequently pooled with Brazil from Pot 2, Italy from Pot 3, and Jamaica from Pot 4 for next year’s tournament, which will kick-off with hosts France against Korea Republic at the Parc des Princes in Paris on Friday, 7 June 2019 (local time).

Alen Stajcic’s side will kick-off its Group C campaign against Italy at the Stade du Hainaut in Valenciennes on Sunday, 9 June 2019 (local time) before meeting Brazil at the Stade de la Mosson in Montpellier four days later.

The Westfield Matildas will conclude their Group C efforts with a clash against Jamaica at the Stade des Alpes in Grenoble on Tuesday, 18 June 2019 (local time).

The Westfield Matildas have played Brazil 18 times in the past, Italy on eight occasions, while next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup™ will mark the first meeting at senior women’s international level between Australia and Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz.
