CommBank Matildas Squad Update

CommBank Matildas forward Cortnee Vine has been ruled out of the final Group A match of the Women's Olympic Football Tournament Paris 2024™ Asian Qualifiers Round 2.

Vine sustained a hamstring injury suffered during Match Day Two’s fixture against the Philippines on Sunday, 29 October. The forward has now returned to Sydney FC to continue her recovery.

Emily van Egmond and Ellie Carpenter have also departed the assembly at the conclusion of Match Day Two with the duo returning back to their respective clubs. Following agreements between Football Australia and their clubs, San Diego Wave and Olympique Lyon, Van Egmond and Carpenter arrived earlier than normal into assembly and as a result have departed earlier.

As per Asian Qualifier regulations, no additional players will be registered for Round 2.

The CommBank Matildas will complete Round 2 of the Asian Qualifiers on Wednesday night when they take on Chinese Taipei at HBF Park with kick off at 7.00pm WST / 10.00pm AEDT.
