Melbourne City FC have announced the addition of four of Australia’s brightest female prospects to its squad ahead of the upcoming Westfield W-League 2015/16 season.
Young Matildas Larissa Crummer, Alex Chidiac, Beatrice Goad and former Adelaide United defender Monique Iannella have joined the club ahead of its maiden W-League campaign.
The emerging stars provide a welcome blend of youth and experience for head coach Joe Montemurro, linking up with inaugural signing and Matildas captain Lisa De Vanna and foundation squad members Laura Alleway and Brianna Davey.
An integral component of the Matildas 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup squad, Queensland-born forward Crummer is considered to be an international star of the future, tallying six caps for the national team at only 19-years-of-age.
The youngest member of Melbourne City FC’s squad to date, 16-year-old striker Chidiac joins the Club with an international pedigree beyond her years, representing the Matildas at the 2014 AFC Asian Cup in China, while consolidating a spot as a mainstay in the Young Matildas setup.

Victorian-born Goad burst on to the scene following a stellar 2013/14 campaign, accumulating 10 appearances where she became the youngest Victorian to play in a national football Grand Final across both men’s and women’s competitions.
South Australian prodigy Iannella will provide added strength in defence, having previously represented the Young Matildas at the 2014 AFC U-19 Women’s Championship in Vietnam.
Crummer, Chidiac and Goad were all recently named in the Young Matildas squad for the AFC Women’s Championship.
Melbourne City FC W-League Head Coach Joe Montemurro expressed his delight to have secured the quartet’s services.
“We’re building a very talented squad with the right mix of youth and experience,” Montemurro said.
“They’ve all had a large amount of exposure at international level and I’m looking forward to seeing what they can produce for the season ahead.”
Melbourne City FC will kick-off its maiden Westfield W-League season in October.
