Chloe Logarzo: "I have learnt a lot about resilience"

Newly-formed National Women's Soccer League club Kansas City has announced the signing of Westfield Matildas midfielder Chloe Logarzo.

The move will see Logarzo trade England for America, departing FA Women's Super League outfit Bristol City, where she scored four goals in 12 matches.

"I’m extremely excited to head back to the US, I feel as if I have unfinished business in the league." Logarzo told matildas.com.au.

The former Sydney FC midfielder last plied her trade in the NWSL back in 2019, when she spent a stint on loan with Washington Spirit, appearing 15 times.

After a career that has so far seen her play across Scandinavia, Australia, the US, and England, Logarzo feels the move to Kansas is exactly what she needs right now.

"To be honest heading to a brand new club with new and ambitious owners was extremely appealing to me, after the year we have had I need a new, fresh start to my career."

"I have learnt a lot about resilience and myself, I was fortunate enough to have an amazing team and support network.

"I’m just waiting for my visa to come through and I’ll be jetting off to the States!"

Pre-season is set to commence on February 1, with Logarzo linking up with her new teammates after she completes a mandatory seven days of quarantine.

KC coach Huw Williams is excited about the Westfield Matildas' addition to his squad.

“She (Logarzo) is very creative, dynamic and highly competitive,” he said.

“She is a player who makes an immediate impact on our team both on and off the field.”
