Brisbane Roar could end the round inside the top four if they can overcome Newcastle Jets in the final match of Round 7 on Sunday.
Fourth-placed Canberra United lost to the in-form Wanderers on Boxing Day, 4-0, meaning a win for Roar would propel Jake Goodship’s squad into the finals spots for the first time this campaign.
Roar are certainly in encouraging form, unbeaten in their last three games in the Westfield W-League.
The Jets come into this one off the back of a bye last weekend and will see this as their own opportunity to breathe life into their finals push.
Craig Deans’ squad have been well-structured and difficult to break down all season, ensuring it should be a tight affair at Lions FC Stadium.
