Brisbane Roar appoint panel to lead new coach recruitment

Brisbane Roar have assembled a diverse panel to guide the club's recruitment of its next Hyundai A-League head coach.

Long-serving former Roar defender Jade North is among the eight-strong group which has been tasked with providing advice following a meeting between the club's owners, board members, CEO David Pourre and football director Pedj Radinovic in Jakarta.

Pourre and Radinovic join North, high performance manager Craig Duncan, chairman Rahim Soekasah, vice chairman Chris Fong, corporate governance specialist Rachel Sakurai and international search and consulting form SRi Executive on the panel.

SRi Executive and their managing partner ANZ, Jonathan Harris, will manage the international aspect of the search and advise and facilitate the selection panel.

"As you would expect, Brisbane Roar has had a high level of interest in the head coach role," Pourre said in a statement.

"We are confident that we will appoint the right person to lead our Hyundai A-League team into the future."

Brisbane expect an appointment to be made soon after the interview process concludes in order to give the successful candidate time to prepare for the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 Season.

Darren Davies, who replaced John Aloisi on an interim basis in December, will continue to lead the team for the foreseeable future.

The Queenslanders have an opportunity to pull away from the foot of the ladder when they visit bottom-placed Central Coast Mariners on Sunday evening.
