Birthday boy Aaron Mooy scores winner on debut for Shanghai SIPG

Aaron Mooy has scored the winning goal on debut for Shanghai SIPG on the same day he turned 30 years old.

It took the Socceroos midfielder just 25 minutes after coming onto the pitch in the 46th minute to make a vital impact on his Chinese Super League debut against Wuhan Zall.

After Austrian striker Marko Arnautovic opened the scoring for SIPG in the 59th minute, Mooy doubled the lead just over 10 minutes later.

The Australian was played in on goal by teammate and former Chelsea star, Oscar, before Mooy smartly lifted the ball over the Wuhan goalkeeper.

Wuhan pulled a goal back less than 10 minutes later, but the Socceroo's strike proved decisive in the 2-1 win.

Mooy’s debut and goal comes two weeks after he sealed a permanent transfer to Shanghai SIPG from Premier League club, Brighton.
