Tara Andrews believes home support can make the difference when the Newcastle Jets run out at McDonald Jones Stadium against Canberra United.
The Hunter side take the field ahead of the Hyundai A-League game between the Jets and Western Sydney Wanderers from 4.30pm AEDT on Saturday, 30 November.
Craig Deans’ side fell to a 1-0 defeat against Wanderers in Round 2 of the Westfield W-League and Andrews is looking forward to getting back to home comforts.
“Playing at home is way better than being away, the vibe is so much better,” said Andrews.
“We have a really good support that come along and cheer us on. That spurs us on in the game.
“That is a bit of a factor, as much as you don’t want it to be when you go away, it is.
“It’ll be good to be back at McDonald Jones this weekend.”
“I’m proud to be a Newcastle player so being able to play in the stadium in front of my home crowd is amazing.”

“All the girls love being able to get more crowds to the games.

Van Egmond insists City teething problems are natural
Emily van Egmond’s last-gasp match-winner in the 2-1 win against Canberra United earned a hard-fought first victory for Melbourne City.
The Westfield Matilda believes the Westfield W-League giants may take time to find their best form.
City host Adelaide United at John McEwan Reserve in Shepparton on Saturday, 30 November at 7pm AEDT, and van Egmond is preaching patience to those who expect City to hit the ground running.
“Our squad is second to none and there’s no excuses when it comes to who we have on the park,” Van Egmond said.
“But sometimes those things can take a bit of time to build.
“We’re definitely on the right track and it’s a process and we’re all fully aware of it.
“With soccer sometimes you’ve just got to play to the conditions and we showed great character down in Canberra to get the three points in the last minute.”
“It’s only normal, you’ve got to give it time. Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

‘Much improved’ Reds searching for first points at City
Adelaide United face the daunting prospect of travelling to star-studded Melbourne City looking to get their first points on the board.
The Lady Reds face the three-time Champions at John McEwan Reserve in Shepparton on Saturday, 30 November at 7pm AEDT.
Head coach Ivan Karlovic believes his side are a better team than they were last season, despite having four fewer points after two games.
“Our benchmark is certainly a lot higher than where we were at last year,” Karlovic said.
“After two games last year we had four points, and probably we were fortunate to get those four points.
“This time around, we’ve got no points and we’re unfortunate not to have points.
“It’s a completely different situation but from a footballing perspective, we certainly in a much better landscape.
“We’ve got to continue down that path and believe in the process because the process has been good so far.
“It’s just that final touch. If we continue in that manner, we’ll get a result.”

Logarzo wants repeat of Grand Final heroics
Chloe Logarzo is hungry to recreate the feeling of scoring against Perth Glory in the Westfield W-League Grand Final.
The 2018/19 Champions travel to Western Australia in a rematch of the big dance at Dorrien Gardens at 4pm AEDT on Sunday, 1 December.
The Westfield Matilda found the target in that 4-2 victory back in May and Logarzo returns with happy memories.
“It’s exciting for us to go up against Perth again,” Logarzo told sydneyfc.com
“Seeing the Perth fixture come up it brings back good memories from that Grand Final in February and it was nice to be able to win a Grand Final in front of my friends and family.
“It was a great feeling to also score in that game and I’m eager for more.
“We are sitting on the top of the table, we’re one of the most successful clubs in the W-League since inception so no matter who we play they’re going to be going all out to beat us.”
