Australian goalkeeper Liam Reddy has signed a two-year deal with Iranian Pro League club Esteghlal FC, three months after being sacked by Sydney FC.
Reddy was sacked by Sydney FC after a drunken incident aboard a flight to New Zealand ahead of the Sky Blues- elimination final against Wellington Phoenix last season.
He had a year remaining on his Sydney contract when the club acted after he admitted to drinking on the team flight.
Reddy, who had been supplanted by Ivan Necevski as Sydney-s first choice 'keeper before the incident, was dismissed on a charge of ‘serious misconduct-.
Reddy has since landed a two-year deal with the Tehran-based club which holds a record seven Pro League tiles, six domestic cups and two AFC Champions league crowns.
