Caltex Socceroos midfielder Massimo Luongo played a full game as Queens Park Rangers secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over Ipswich Town in the Championship overnight.
Just days after returning from international duty with the Socceroos, Luongo got through a full shift for the Rs to help his side snap a two-game losing streak.
Goals to Jamie Mackie and Luke Freeman either side of half-time proved decisive for the hosts as they maintained their 100% home record to start the Championship season.
In an impressive performance, Luongo played a part in both of his side’s goals, providing the assist for Freeman’s strike from the edge of the box.
The Aussie midfielder went close to scoring himself on the hour mark, with his fizzing effort from distance well saved by Ipswich keeper Bartosz Bialkowski.
And he went close again in the dying stages with a curling strike from the top of the box going just wide of the Town goal.
QPR are sitting eighth on the Championship table after six matches.
