Mustafa Amini’s AGF were seconds away from a UEFA Europa League Playoff final, but missed out after conceding an injury-time goal from Marvin Egho in a 1-1 draw with Danish Superliga rivals Randers on Monday morning (AEST).
Amini’s team had taken an away goal from their 2-1 loss in the first leg last Sunday, and were heading through to a Europa League Playoff final against Brondby having taken the lead through a 66th-minute penalty from Swedish striker Tobias Sana.
But Egho fired in the equaliser with the last opportunity of the match, meaning AGF lost the tie 3-2 and finish the Danish Superliga campaign in eighth place. Amini played the full 90 minutes.

Awer Mabil’s FC Midtjylland also finished the Danish Superliga season with a loss, going down 2-1 to Esbjerg. Mabil – who scored six goals and registered 11 assists in all competitions – came on as a 68th-minute substitute.
Midtjylland finished runners up to Copenhagen and will enter the Europa League third qualifying round next season.
Also guaranteed of a Europa League third qualifying round berth are James Jeggo's Austria Wien, despite going down 5-2 to LASK on the final day of the Austrian Bundesliga campaign.
Jeggo was serving a suspension after his red card in a 2-0 win over Wolfsberg last Monday morning.
Meanwhile, Mitch Langerak and Nagoya Grampus suffered a 1-0 J-League loss to Matsumoto Yamaga on Sunday afternoon (AEST).
