Over in Austria, Huddersfield managed a 3-0 win over German side RB Leipzig. Aaron Mooy played the opening forty-five minutes, with Town manager David Wagner electing to use the match to get minutes into as many legs as possible.

Playing alongside two other central midfielders in Huddersfield's 3-5-2 set-up, Mooy had a brilliant chance in the first half when winger Rajiv van La Parra picked the Aussie out in the middle but he fired wide.

Huddersfield take on Chelsea in their English Premier League opener, kickoff is 12am Sunday morning (AEST).

Back in Blighty and Brighton and Hove Albion scored themselves a 2-1 win over Ligue 1 opponents FC Nantes, with Mat Ryan played a full game in goals for the Seagulls.

Despite conceding a goal around ten minutes from full-time, Ryan pulled off a number of crucial saves throughout the match to keep his side in it and see out the win.

They get their English Premier League campaign underway at Watford, with kickoff at 12am Sunday morning (AEST).
