Another classic on the cards? Opta stats indicate a goal-fest in Brisbane v Perth

Forecast for Sunday evening's Hyundai A-League clash between Perth Glory and Brisbane Roar: partly cloudy with high chance of goals.

Perth's matches with their Roar counterparts has proven to be a guaranteed goal fest in recent years.

In the last nine matches between the two 2012 Grand Finalists, there has been 39 goals scored - checking out at an average of over four goals per match.

It's the type of record that should have each team's attackers licking their lips at the prospect of such an encounter - even if Perth enter the affair without Chris Ikonomidis.

The Caltex Socceroos starlet has scored six Hyundai A-League goals this year, which is the same as Glory front man Andy Keogh.

Together, Ikonomidis and Keogh have tallied 12 of the 20 goals the table-topping Glory outfit have scored.

Much of the onus will shift to the Irishman's shoulders when kick off commences, but fortunately for Glory, Keogh holds a prolific strike rate of seven goals all up against the Roar - whom he scored against in Glory's 2-1 win over Roar in November.

But Keogh's record against Roar isn't the only factor that indicates there could be a goal fest on the cards - nor is he the only striker having a strong run of form this season.

Opposing number Adam Taggart, who also scored a consolation in the two sides' fixture in Round 3, has flourished since making the move across from Perth to Brisbane.

Taggart has scored seven goals this season, two short of Golden Boot leader Adam Le Fondre's nine, and no other player has scored more goals at their home ground this campaign than Taggart's four at Suncorp Stadium.

Shots on target

Roar also boast a potentially lethal weapon in Brazilian marksman Henrique. All four of the striker's shots this season have been on target for a return of two goals, while only Besart Berisha (34) has scored more Hyundai A-League goals at Suncorp Stadium than Henrique (24).

He also holds a superb record against the Glory. No other Brisbane player has scored more against Perth than Henrique, which is highest tally against any team in the competition.
