Alex Chidiac returns to Melbourne Victory

CommBank Matildas' midfielder Alex Chidiac will return to Melbourne Victory until the end of the 2025/26 Liberty A-League season.

Chidiac returns to Victory after her stint overseas with Racing Lousiville, and then a loan spell with Tigres UANL where she helped the Mexican side to a sixth Women's Liga MX Championship.

The midfielder last made an appearance for Victory in the 2022/23 season, scoring 6 goals in 13 appearances for Melbourne before she returned to Racing Louisville following the end of her loan deal to Victory.

Despite only playing 13 games, out of the 20-game regular season, Chidiac won the Julie Dolan Medal as the best player of the season.

“I’m delighted to be back at Victory and can’t wait to be back on the pitch in the Liberty A-League,” Chidiac said.

“Victory has become like a second home to me. Working with Jeff and the team brings out the best in me as a footballer and I’m looking forward to helping the team win more silverware over my time here.”

“We’re incredibly pleased to have Alex back with us for the remainder of the campaign but even more exciting is that she will be with the squad for a further two seasons,” Head coach Jeff Hopkins said.

Alex Chidiac could be set for her return for Melbourne Victory in their Round 10 clash against Western Sydney Wanderers. Victory will be looking to get back in the winners' circle after being defeated 1-0 by Melbourne City in their last game.
