Adelaide recruit Boland bracing for lengthy injury lay-off

Adelaide United midfielder Mirko Boland is nervously awaiting the results of scans after hearing his hamstring "snap" during Sunday's loss to Perth Glory.

Boland, 31, was caught by Juande in a tackle and limped off in the 67th minute at Coopers Stadium.

The German was left fearing the worst just two matches into his Hyundai A-League career.

"I heard my hamstring snap, I think it's badly damaged," Boland told The Advertiser.

"It was after the tackle, I kicked the ball forward and then got tackled and I was falling and then it got hit and then I heard it snap.

"I have never felt like this before. I have the medication now to keep the pain away.

"I will have a scan and then we'll see what's up."

Boland made almost 300 appearances for Eintracht Braunschweig before linking up with Adelaide in July.

He featured five times in the Reds' run to FFA Cup glory, scoring twice.
