Adelaide goalkeeper Izzo's kind act for young fan

Adelaide United's success in the FFA Cup has helped bring a smile to a sick young supporter's face.

The Reds edged Sydney FC last week in a thrilling Final to become the first club to win the competition twice.

And goalkeeper Paul Izzo was able to borrow the FFA Cup Trophy for a special visit to young fan Ace, the pair having come to know each other in recent months.

Ace joined Izzo as a mascot earlier in the tournament and was beaming with the opportunity to inspect the silverware.

"Went to go visit my friend Ace today," Izzo wrote on Instagram.

"He has been motivating me ever since we first met during pre-season.

"So today I brought him the FFA Cup he inspired me and the boys to win to his very home."
