The Young Matildas have gone down 2-1 to Korea Republic in their final match of the AFC U-19 Women-s Championship in Nanjing, China.

The result saw the Koreans crowned Champions and will now represent Asia at the Women's U-20 World Cup next year.

Korea gained the ascendancy early and took the lead on 20 minutes when skipper Jang Sel-gi gave her side a 1-0 advantage.

The Young Matildas weren't going down without a fight and when Georgia Yeoman-Dale found the back of the net on 33 minutes the teams were all square once again.

Lee Do-sam however broke the deadlock with halftime approaching after converting her penalty kick and giving the Koreans a 2-1 lead that would not be tracked down.
