Women's Ballon d'Or: Sam Kerr nominated for 2019 award

Westfield Matildas star Sam Kerr has been nominated for the 2019 Women's Ballon d'Or.

Australian captain Kerr, 26, is one of 20 nominees in the running to claim the prestigious individual award.

It comes after another magnificent season for club and country from the WA-born striker.

Kerr scored five goals in four matches for Australia at the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup, helped Perth Glory finish Westfield W-League runners up with 17 goals, and on Monday morning fired Chicago Red Stars to their maiden National Women's Soccer League final by scoring her 19th goal of the campaign.
