Adelaide United once again begin their quest to finally reach the Westfield W-League promised land – and the Reds will be hoping it’s 13th time lucky.
Twelve times the South Australians have tried to claim their place in the top four. The best they have managed is fifth, but they also fell only one point short in a tenacious sixth-place effort in 2018/19.
Last season was a step back as the Reds’ slipped to joint bottom, avoiding the wooden spoon on goal difference, but their youthful squad showed signs of encouragement as they mature together.
They now have a new head coach in Adrian Stenta, with ex-gaffer Ivan Karlovic moving upstairs. The former assistant Stenta will aim to provide the spark to inspire Adelaide to take their Finals Series bow.
