All eyes were on Brisbane Roar as Westfield Matilda Clare Polkinghorne stepped out to make her 150th Westfield W-League appearance. The one club player did not get the result she or her team mates would have been after, falling 4-1 to Canberra United.

Emily Gielnik's header was Brisbane's lone goal in the contest and it extended her lead at the top of the golden boot standings.

It was a great afternoon for the team in green with Nicki Flannery, Biana Galic, Grace Maher, and Michelle Heyman all finding the back of the net. Heyman's goal was her 70th in the Westfield W-League, drawing her level with Sam Kerr at the top of the all-time scorers list.

It also keeps her in the running for the golden boot after her blistering start to the campaign.

In the round's other matches, Melbourne Victory earned a 1-0 win over Western Sydney Wanderers on Thursday night. Football Fern Annalie Longo scored the only goal of the match to extend Victory's unbeaten run to five games.

Adelaide United are tied for second with the Roar after their 2-0 win over Sydney FC. A Maruschka Waldus header and a Mallory Weber strike sealed an important win for the Reds in Dylan Holmes' farewell game.

The Newcastle Jets were too strong for Perth Glory putting four past Alex Epakis' side. Rhianna Pollicina and Lauren Allan scored either side of a Sunny Franco double to secure the Jets their second victory of the season.
