With five games in round 12 of the Westfield W-League fans were treated to big wins, spectacular goals, a hat trick, and a piece of league history.
Melbourne City and Western Sydney Wanderers kicked things off in Melbourne on Thursday night with the visitors running out 4-0 winners.
An injury to Westfield Matilda Teagan Micah saw former Westfield Matilda Melissa Barbieri don the gloves in her first start in the league since 2017. While Barbieri made some good saves, the Wanderers attack was too strong with doubles to Bryleeh Henry and Rosie Galea.

It was a double dose of action on Friday night, kicking off with Canberra United hosting Perth Glory. Nicki Flannery's opener was cancelled out by a long range Caitlin Doeglas effort.
Michelle Heyman's record breaking 71st Westfield W-League was one to remember but the Glory were able to draw level through a lovely Katarina Jukic strike.
After two missed penalties from Canberra and a red card to Sarah Carroll, the game was poised to end in a stalemate. But Heyman was able to find the back of the net, as she has been all season, to secure her side all three points.
Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United got the memo to continue the goal scoring with the team in orange recording a 4-2 victory over the Reds.

Mariel Hecher got things started for the Roar before Chelsie Dawber scored goal number four for her season to see the teams enter the break on level pegging.
But the second half saw the beginning of the Emily Gielnik show with the Westfield Matilda scoring an 18-minute hat trick.
Dawber found the back of the net once again but it was not enough to get her side any points.
Melbourne City were back in action on Sunday, this time hosting the Newcastle Jets. Barbieri was once again in between the sticks and a solid defensive performance saw City post a 1-0 victory.
Tori Tumeth's cross was tapped in from close range by Chinatsu Kira for her first goal of the season.

Perth Glory rounded things out on Tuesday night with Melbourne Victory heading west. Glory created plenty of chances but couldn't beat Gaby Garton in the Melbourne goals.
Kyra Cooney-Cross teed up Annalie Longo for her second goal in as many games as the visitors won 1-0.
