The Westfield W-League returns following a Christmas break with four big matches as the competition approaches the business end.
Here’s where you can see some of the Westfield Matildas stars in action in Round 9.
Melbourne Victory v Newcastle Jets, Friday, 5.20pm @ AAMI Park
Defender Laura Alleway and keeper Casey Dumont will need to be at their resolute best to half the high-flying Hunter club.
With playmaker Emily van Egmond pulling the strings in the Newcastle midfield, the Jets are in scintillating form as they look to return to the top of the Westfield W-League ladder.
Adelaide United v Sydney FC, Friday, 8pm @ Marden Sports Complex
Reds keeper Eliza Campbell got a taste of national team action against China and faces a daunting task against the in-form Sky Blues.
Sydney FC have won four in a row with Lisa De Vanna and Amy Harrison in excellent form. Add in Caitlin Foord now and Ante Juric’s side look a serious contender.
Perth Glory v Brisbane Roar, Friday, 10pm @ Dorrien Gardens
What a cracking contest this should be!
Second-placed Perth Glory will be eyeing top spot and – led by golden girl Sam Kerr – will go after the league-leading Roar.
But Brisbane are stacked with Westfield Matildas experience including the likes of Mackenzie Arnold, Tameka Butt, Katrina Gorry, Clare Polkinghorne and Hayley Raso meaning they’ll be ready for anything Glory throws at them.
Western Sydney Wanderers v Melbourne City, Monday, 5.20pm @ ANZ Stadium
It’s a tough New Year’s Day clash for the Wanderers squad as Melbourne City come to ANZ stadium with Westfield Matildas stars Steph Catley, Larissa Crummer, Alanna Kennedy, Kyah Simon and Lydia Williams all in their squad.
